Growth found in what your clients have already told you, and outreach written for each of them.
Bluegrass builds growth systems for RIAs and wealth managers. They read your own notes, emails and documents for opportunities, such as assets held elsewhere or a coming retirement, and draft outreach for the advisor to approve.
Much of a firm's growth comes from existing clients and their introductions, and the signs usually sit unread in the notes. The system lists that evidence rather than scoring who is likely to buy, which is outside our practice.
Where growth work stands today
A client who mentioned an old 401(k), a parent's estate or a business sale often has assets to move, but the mention sits in a months-old note. Outreach to prospects and referrals is written one message at a time, if at all.
Reading every client's notes, emails and documents for the facts that matter, and drafting the follow-up, is work a language model does well. The advisor still decides who to contact and approves what is sent.
How the growth system works
- 01
Read the book
Notes, emails, CRM records and documents are read for facts that point to an opportunity, such as held-away assets, a liquidity event or a relative who is not yet a client.
- 02
Set out the evidence
Each opportunity is listed with the note, email or document it came from and when it was last discussed, so the advisor can judge it in seconds.
- 03
Research prospects
For a prospect the advisor or a client names, the system summarizes what public sources say about their career and business, with links for the advisor to check.
- 04
Draft the outreach
A personal message is drafted in the advisor's voice for each opportunity or introduction, using your approved language, for the advisor to edit and send.
- 05
Review and record
Messages that count as advertisements under the SEC's marketing rule are routed for compliance review, and every message sent is archived and logged in the CRM.
Where people stay in the loop
Advisors choose which opportunities to pursue and approve every message, and the system never scores clients or prospects on their likelihood to buy. Your compliance team decides which messages need review before use.
The systems it works with
The system reads your CRM, notes, email, documents and approved public sources, and writes opportunities and outreach back to the CRM, with every message archived under your books and records policy.
When to build it, and when to buy it
Advisor tools now surface opportunities from meeting notes, and prospecting products find and contact new prospects at scale. If your plan centers on new prospects, a prospecting product may be the right answer.
A custom build makes sense when your richest source of growth is your own book, when the evidence spans several systems and years of notes, or when outreach must follow your own compliance standard and voice.
We hold no reseller agreements, partner quotas or revenue share with any vendor, so a recommendation to buy is made on its merits.
What this work costs you today
A quick way to put a number on the problem before talking to anyone, using your own figures rather than ours.
Enter your volume and the minutes each one takes to see what the work costs in a year.
The numbers stay in your browser and are not stored or sent anywhere. Bring the figure to the first call, since it is the baseline any system should be measured against.
Questions about growth opportunities and outreach
- Does it rank clients or prospects by how likely they are to buy?
- It lists opportunities with the evidence behind them rather than scoring anyone, because predicting who will buy is a statistical modeling problem outside our practice.
- How does outreach fit the SEC's marketing rule?
- A one-on-one message is generally outside the rule's definition of an advertisement unless it includes hypothetical performance, while anything sent more widely is treated as marketing. Your chief compliance officer decides which messages need review, and every message is archived either way.
- Where does information about prospects come from?
- Only from public sources you approve, such as professional profiles and company news, and from what a referring client tells you; the advisor sees the source of every fact before using it.
