Bluegrass

AI for RIAs and wealth managers, built for the work between the client meeting and the custodian.

Bluegrass builds production AI systems for registered investment advisers and wealth managers, taking over the work around the advice, from meeting preparation to marketing review. Each system runs in your own cloud account and belongs to you.

Paperwork limits how many new households an RIA's advisors and service teams can take on. We have worked with some of the largest RIAs, and taking it off them is usually the quickest way to add capacity without adding headcount.

Where an advisory firm's time goes

Onboarding and transfers

Every new household brings account applications, transfer forms and custodian paperwork, and a form returned as not in good order delays the client's first experience of the firm.

Data gathering

Planning depends on statements from held-away accounts, tax returns, insurance policies and estate documents, which arrive as PDFs and are keyed into the planning software by hand.

Meetings and service

Each review meeting needs a brief beforehand and notes, CRM updates and follow-up afterward, and between meetings clients send requests that each need an answer and often a form.

Compliance

Marketing pieces, client communications and books and records need review and retention under the firm's compliance program, usually by a small compliance team.

What we build for RIAs and wealth managers

Book transitions and acquisitions

When an advisor retires or the firm acquires a practice, each household's history summarized from years of notes and emails for the new advisor, with the accounts prepared for repapering.

Investment proposals

Proposals for prospects drafted from their current statements and your models and templates, with holdings and fees compared and every figure traced to the statement it came from.

Form ADV and policy updates

Changes in the firm's business and in the rules read against Form ADV and the compliance manual, with the updates drafted for the chief compliance officer to decide on.

These are examples of what we can build for RIAs and wealth managers. Pick one up as-is, have it tailored to you or suggest something entirely new.

Where to start

For most RIAs the recommended first system is account opening or document extraction, because volume is steady, rules are clear and every returned form has a measurable cost. Meeting follow-up and growth outreach come next, once client data flows cleanly between your systems.

The 4-week Opportunity Evaluation tests that order on your own paperwork before anything is built and says so if your CRM or a product built for advisors already does the job.

Questions and answers for RIAs and wealth managers

How does this fit our compliance obligations?
Each system is designed with your chief compliance officer from the start. Nothing reaches a client without a person's approval, and every output is retained under your books and records policy and traceable to its inputs.
Will it work with our CRM, custodians and planning software?
The systems connect to the CRM, custodial platforms and planning and portfolio systems you already use, and the evaluation confirms how before anything is built.
We already use an AI note-taker. Why build anything?
For meeting notes alone a product is often the right answer, and we will say so. A build makes sense when a meeting should also update the CRM and start account paperwork, or when a generic product fits your process poorly.
Is client data safe?
Everything runs in your own cloud account and reads client data in place. The model and data retention terms are agreed with your compliance team, and we're happy to sign an NDA before you share anything sensitive.

A senior team that has done this before

We are a small, entirely senior team with fifty years of combined AI engineering, multiple granted patents and Y Combinator founders, from Yale, MIT, McKinsey, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft and Vista Equity Partners. The people who scope your work are the people who write the code.

Selected work

We built the AI transformation roadmap for a top-50 P&C brokerage, and it is saving the firm millions of dollars in vendor fees it did not need to pay.

Clients include some of the largest banks, RIAs, fintechs and AI labs, as well as a top-3 P&C carrier, a top-10 P&C brokerage, a top-5 trucking brokerage, a leading specialty MGA and a leading trucking MGA.

We run only 3 to 5 engagements at a time, so that every client works directly with the senior team.
