Market-ready submissions, built from the client file instead of re-keyed.
Bluegrass builds submission systems for brokers. They assemble the ACORD applications, underwriting narrative, statement of values and loss history from your client file and tailor each package to the market's appetite.
A strong submission gets a faster, better answer from underwriters, and what separates it from a weak one is usually the time someone could spend on it.
What building a submission involves today
Building a commercial submission means entering the same client information into the ACORD 125 and the line sections it needs. Someone then updates the schedule of values, summarizes loss runs, writes a narrative and adapts the package for each market.
Most of that information already sits in the AMS, last year's submission and the client's emails, but it is re-keyed for every renewal and new market. Account teams spend renewal season typing, and submissions go out thinner than they should.
How automated submission preparation works
- 01
Gather the file
The system collects what the agency already knows about the client from the AMS, the prior submission, the expiring policies, loss runs and recent correspondence.
- 02
Complete the forms
ACORD applications and supplemental questionnaires are completed from that file, with each answer linked to its source and every gap listed instead of guessed.
- 03
Build the schedules
Locations, values, vehicles and payroll are assembled into the schedules markets expect, from whatever spreadsheets and documents the client supplied.
- 04
Draft the narrative
A draft underwriting narrative summarizes the risk, its operations, its loss history and what has changed since last year, in your agency's own style.
- 05
Package for each market
The package is tailored to each market's appetite and submission requirements, and it goes to the producer for review before anything is sent.
Where people stay in the loop
Nothing reaches a market without a producer's review. The producer reads a finished package with every gap listed, so the client is asked for the right information the first time.
The systems it works with
Submissions draw on the AMS, the agency's document store and email, and they are delivered in the formats each market accepts.
Built around the AMS you already run
Including Applied Epic, Vertafore AMS360, Sagitta, BenefitPoint and QQCatalyst, HawkSoft, EZLynx and Momentum AMS. Product names and logos are the trademarks of their owners, and Bluegrass is independent of every vendor shown.
When to build it, and when to buy it
Some agency management systems and comparative raters fill ACORD forms from stored data, and for simple small commercial risks that may be all an agency needs.
A custom system pays off on middle-market and specialty accounts, where the narrative, schedules and loss history largely earn a good quote. What you know about those clients is spread across documents no form-filling tool reads.
We hold no reseller agreements, partner quotas or revenue share with any vendor, so a recommendation to buy is made on its merits.
What this work costs you today

The numbers stay in your browser and are not stored or sent anywhere. Bring the figure to the first call, since it is the baseline any system should be measured against.
Questions about submission preparation
- Which ACORD forms does it complete?
- It completes the commercial application and the line sections an account needs, commonly the 125, 126, 127, 130, 131 and 140, plus the supplemental applications your markets ask for.
- Does it handle loss runs?
- It reads loss runs from prior carriers into a single loss summary, with every figure linked to its source report, and lists any carrier whose loss run is still outstanding.
- Will underwriters know the submission was drafted by a system?
- They will see a complete, consistent submission that a producer has reviewed and stands behind, which is what they care about.

We are a small, entirely senior team with fifty years of combined AI engineering, multiple granted patents and Y Combinator founders, from Yale, MIT, McKinsey, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft and Vista Equity Partners. The people who scope your work are the people who write the code.
Selected work
We built the AI transformation roadmap for a top-50 P&C brokerage, and it is saving the firm millions of dollars in vendor fees it did not need to pay.
Clients include some of the largest banks, RIAs, fintechs and AI labs, as well as a top-3 P&C carrier, a top-10 P&C brokerage, a top-5 trucking brokerage, a leading specialty MGA and a leading trucking MGA.
We run only 3 to 5 engagements at a time, so that every client works directly with the senior team.
