Commercial insurance proposals, drafted from your quotes in your own template.
Bluegrass builds proposal systems for insurance agencies and brokerages. They draft each proposal from carrier quotes and client data, with every limit, deductible and premium traceable to its source.
Proposals are where your expertise meets the client, yet much of the time spent on them goes into copying figures from quote PDFs into a template.
What building a proposal involves today
A commercial renewal proposal combines the schedule of coverages, each market's terms and premium, changes from the expiring program and required disclosures. The figures come from quote PDFs, binders and the AMS; the judgment comes from the account team.
Assembly can take hours on a large account, and copying is where costly mistakes happen, such as a sublimit from the wrong quote or an outdated premium.
How automated proposal generation works
- 01
Gather the inputs
Quotes, the expiring policy and the client's data are collected from the AMS and from the email threads where the quotes arrived.
- 02
Extract and align
Coverages, limits, deductibles, sublimits, exclusions and premiums are extracted from each quote and laid onto one structure, so the expiring and proposed terms can be compared line by line.
- 03
Draft in your template
The proposal is drafted in your own template and brand, with coverage summaries, the comparison with the expiring program and the sections your compliance team requires.
- 04
Review with sources
Every figure in the draft links back to the page it came from, which turns the producer's review from re-checking every number into reading the document.
- 05
Deliver and file
The final proposal is filed against the account in the AMS, and the producer's edits are kept so that later drafts come closer to how they write.
Where people stay in the loop
A proposal always goes out under a producer's name, so the system drafts and the producer approves. We track how much of each draft survives review untouched.
The systems it works with
Proposals draw on the AMS, the quote documents and your template library, and they can be produced as Word, PowerPoint or PDF files to match how your producers present.
Built around the AMS you already run
Including Applied Epic, Vertafore AMS360, Sagitta, BenefitPoint and QQCatalyst, HawkSoft, EZLynx and Momentum AMS. Product names and logos are the trademarks of their owners, and Bluegrass is independent of every vendor shown.
When to build it, and when to buy it
Several products now generate proposals from carrier PDFs, and for a small agency with straightforward accounts one of them may be enough.
Building your own makes sense when the proposal is a differentiator for your producers, when your templates are specific to your book or when proposals should share extraction with quote comparison and policy checking.
We hold no reseller agreements, partner quotas or revenue share with any vendor, so a recommendation to buy is made on its merits.
What this work costs you today
A quick way to put a number on the problem before talking to anyone, using your own figures rather than ours.
Enter your volume and the minutes each one takes to see what the work costs in a year.
The numbers stay in your browser and are not stored or sent anywhere. Bring the figure to the first call, since it is the baseline any system should be measured against.
Questions about insurance proposal generation
- Will the proposals still sound like our producers?
- Drafts follow your templates and the language of your past proposals, and producers can edit everything. Their edits shape later drafts, which need fewer of them.
- Which lines of business can it handle?
- Commercial packages are the usual starting point, because that is where proposals are longest, and the evaluation measures extraction accuracy on your own quotes before any line is included.
- Does it compare the expiring and renewal terms?
- It does, and it flags coverage that has narrowed, such as a reduced sublimit or a new exclusion, which is the comparison a client most needs to see.
